Checked on 25 October 2026 — these dates apply only to the 2026–2027 academic year, not the 2027–2028 intake. Chantemerle, Blonay: classes start on 1 September 2026 at 08:00; the school year ends with the closing ceremony on 18 June 2027 at 16:00, according to the official calendar. LémanMaturité, Vevey: the official school calendar marks 24 August 2026 as the start of term. These are class dates, not application deadlines or boarding arrival times. No fixed application deadline was verified on the admissions pages reviewed. For international applicants, LémanMaturité recommends completing enrolment at least two months before classes, ideally three to four months beforehand: this is preparation guidance, not a guarantee of a place. For 2027–2028, obtain the confirmed calendar, availability and boarding arrival date from the school before booking. These Riviera examples do not apply to other Swiss schools. Follow the official links below for holidays and updates. Travel: check SNCF Connect, TGV Lyria and SBB for your dates. Chantemerle is at Chemin de Chantemerle 7, 1807 Blonay; LémanMaturité lists Rue de Fribourg 6, 1800 Vevey. With boarding via Chantemerle, the boarding and teaching locations are separate. Allow for connections and the final transfer; no fixed journey time is guaranteed.
As an EU citizen, a Belgian student needs no visa. They get a residence permit for non-working people from the school's canton, with proof of enrolment, funds and health and accident insurance. Schools often help.
Foreign students can usually ask to be exempted from Swiss health insurance if they keep equivalent cover, for example their Belgian mutual with the relevant European form. Requests go to the canton.
The CESS is the Wallonia-Brussels Federation's secondary-school diploma. Depending on the Swiss school, students may prepare a Swiss gymnasial maturité, French bac or IB. For a bachelor's programme in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the Swiss gymnasial maturité generally requires equivalence to the CESS; this does not guarantee admission. For 2027–2028, the official application period runs from 15 November 2026 to 15 July 2027, with specific exceptions provided by the service. In Flanders, contact your chosen university: the procedure is different.

Trips home depend on the boarding school's calendar and rules, and any arrangements required for a minor. A direct Brussels–Geneva flight takes about 1h15–1h20, excluding airport formalities and the school transfer.
It allows an application, but admission is not automatic. In the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, equivalence to the CESS is generally required and programme conditions apply. In Flanders, consult your chosen university. Admission to Swiss universities also depends on the exact type of maturité and the institution's requirements.
